Siri Remote on Apple TV - no range

My siri remote is fully charged but only works if placed close to the Apple TV device.

At a range of 1.5m it loses connection.

There are no obstructions and has good "line of sight".

Any reason for this? A fix?

Thank you for posting to Apple Support Communities.

Let's start by ensuring your Apple TV is up-to-date: Update your Apple TV

Disconnect Apple TV from power, reconnect and test.
Charge Siri Remote overnight, and test
Make sure the Apple TV isn't enclosed in a cabinet, or behind the TV display
If the Apple TV is near a router, make sure it's at least 5 feet away from the router
