Why doesn't my Calendar's "Search" function work?
Just updated to MacOS 13.1 Ventura. Search function doesn't work in Calendar Version 11.0 (2932.3.3). Is this a known glitch?

Yes, exactly the issue I'm having.
Yes, exactly the issue I'm having.
Well, I guess we're the only two people on the planet having this issue. Gee, thanks for your concern APPLE.
As I stated, it's just the search within the Calendar.app. To be more specific: Search results only recognize future entries, not past dates. Therefore, the auto-fill is also nonfunctional. As far as I know, this has nothing to do with Spotlight. Is no one else experiencing this behavior on MacOS 13.1?
After two OS updates, my iMac is now running 13.2(22D49) and Calendar Version 11.0 (2932.3.4) and the search issue still has not been fixed.
Just finished updating to the same versions you specified above; I can do "forward in time" searches now, but nothing from past entries comes up.
My test keyword is "dentist", which should list all dental appointments (past and future), but only lists the upcoming appointment in the search results.
I can confirm on 13.1 (22C65) that my Calendar search function is also not returning any results. Also, with regard to the Siri & Spotlight guidance provided above, I don't even see a "Calendar" entry in the "Search Results" category list. I suppose it is possible that Calendar entries *may* fall under "Events & Reminders", but that is checked, and Spotlight doesn't show any Calendar results when I do a search from within it.
Hi DaleMacsMac,
To isolate the behavior, let's have you search for an item using Spotlight on your Mac: Search with Spotlight on Mac - Apple Support
Search for something
1. On your Mac, do one of the following:
• Click the Spotlight icon(if shown) in the menu bar.
• Press Command-Space bar.
• Press(if available) in the row of function keys on the keyboard.
You can drag the Spotlight window anywhere on the desktop.
Tip: If the Spotlight icon isn’t in the menu bar, add it using Control Center settings.
2. In the search field, type what you’re looking for—results appear as you type.
Spotlight lists top hits first; click a top hit to preview or open it. Spotlight also suggests variations of your search; you can view those results in Spotlight or on the web.
If no items are showing in the search results, then test after rebuilding the Spotlight index, as this can clear up search issues : Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support
macOS Ventura or later
1. Choose Apple menu > System Settings.
2. Click Siri & Spotlight in the sidebar, then scroll down and click Spotlight Privacy on the right.
3. Drag the disk or folder that you want to index again to the list of locations that Spotlight is prevented from searching. Or click the add button (+) and select the disk or folder to add.*
4. From the same list of locations, select the disk or folder that you just added. Then click the remove button (–) to remove it from the list.
5. Click Done, then quit System Settings. Spotlight will reindex the contents of the disk or folder. This can take some time, depending on the amount of information being indexed.
If the unexpected searching behavior only happens with Calendar, then reach out to Apple Support directly to help investigate the behavior. You can use the following link to reach out: Contact - Official Apple Support
