Mail is showing all my mail only in iCloud. Nothing is being downloaded to my inbox on my computer. Previously, emails were being downloaded to my computer and also showing in iCloud. I don't know why this changed, but if I want to change it back, how do I get Mail app to download emails to my computer?

Hello Stephen Souza1,

iCloud Mail is a great service and we're glad to know the emails appear via the iCloud website. Since the emails aren't showing via the Mail app, you'll want to begin with the steps listed below. These steps are specific to troubleshooting receiving email via the Mail app on Mac. You can also find these steps, along with additional troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article.

  1. "Open Mail and choose Mail > Preferences.
  2. Click the Accounts tab.
  3. Select your iCloud email account.
  4. Click the Server Settings tab. If iCloud isn't listed as the Outgoing Mail Account, select iCloud."

Hey Stephen Souza1,

Have you checked the settings to make sure you have it selected for the On My Mac mailbox? Here's more information, just in case: Change Mailbox Behaviors settings in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

Note: Mail stores messages in the mailbox you specify for each option.

• If you select a mailbox on the mail server, the messages are available when you use your email account on another computer. Mail selects the best mailbox for your account; before choosing a different server mailbox, check with your email account provider.

• If you select an On My Mac mailbox, the messages are stored on your Mac and are available only there.

The settings shown vary depending on your account type.

We hope this helps.

Take care!

No, what I mean is, I have an Inbox for emails on my Mac. I also have an inbox for iCloud emails, which also shows up on my Mac.

Previously, email from iCloud would appear in both inboxes. So, I'd have one set of emails from iCloud, another on my HD.

Now, the emails only appear in the iCloud inbox. The inbox on my Mac remains blank. I suppose that's OK, but I don't know why that's happened.

I can still answer, and trash emails. But, is there a way to set Mail so that emails from iCloud appear in both inboxes?
