On iMessage conversations, I have noticed that sometimes the “has notifications silenced” is purple and other times it is grey. What does that signify?

Hello memggbej,

We understand that your contacts are being notified that your notifications are silenced. This is a part of Focus, which is outlined here: Use Focus on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

You'll want to adjust the Allowed Notifications option to set notifications to arrive.

As for the message being purple, that means that the customized Focus has been enabled. However, when it's gray, that means that the Focus has been disabled.
