I have a dual sim phone. I have a number assigned to my esim. However outgoing calls fail and incoming calls go straight to vm. Is there something I can do or do I need to go into my wireless carrier’s store to fix the problem?

Call your carrier’s tech support. That’s what anyone in a store would have to do; most wireless stores are staffed by salespeople, not techs, and they don’t have access to back end systems.
