Twitter can't be blocked on iPhone!?

On an iPhone 12, iOS 16.2:

Screen Time / Content & Privacy Restrictions / Web Content / Limit Adult Websites does not block Twitter.com or Mobile.Twitter.com when those sites are in the "Never Allow" list.

The same settings DO block the sites on an iPad.

And the "Never Allow" list works fine for numerous other blocked sites on the iPhone and iPad.

Why is Twitter not successfully blocked on the iPhone but is blocked on the iPad?

Hi I had the same issue today. Tried blocking twitter.com and that worked. But mobile.twitter.com I was able to waltz right on in.

Not sure if this will apply to you, but ever since I enabled private relay, some sites just don’t work correctly. While I had this off, I turned it on and back off. Tada! Mobile.twitter.com was blocked.

settings>at the top Apple ID>iCloud>under iCloud+ private relay turn off or on and then off again. Good luck!

Hi Roger Schmidgall,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

It sounds like you are using Screen Time correctly.

Try deleting all Screen Time restrictions. Then restart the iPhone. Restarting can resolve many minor issues. Here's how to Restart your iPhone.

Then try rebuilding the Screen Time restrictions to exactly match what you see on the iPad: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

If the issue is continuing, reach out to Apple Support for a deeper dive.

Have a fantastic day!
