Weather Widget ON the Desktop to replace the Dark Sky API?

I used to use the Geektool app; for a wonderful weather forecast from the Dark Sky API that displayed a beautiful colored text forecast with animated icons ON the desktop. Since Dark Sky is now terminated; is there a replacement geektool code that can duplicate this with another weathe api that actually works? Yes many of us want a text in weather display not in the notification center; but on the desktop in the background. We love the effect.

There are hundreds of weather apps in the App Store. I'd start by looking at them. My favorite is Carrot Weather, though it probably isn't to everyone's taste.

There is a weather app included with Ventura. You're not restricted to notifications.
