Why is my signature image increasing in size when I input a recipient's name when composing an email?

I created an email signature image and exported it as a .png file and uploaded it to my native Mail app. When I begin to add a recipient in the email box the signature file instantly increases in size. I had exported the .png file as 2x to account for retina screens and saving it at 1x looked very pixelated. Anyone else running into these issues and if there are better solutions to creating an image signature without it looking pixelated when exporting at 1x?

The issue as I see it ( pun intended ) is not so much how it renders in you e-mail Client ( Application) but how the Recipients' e-mail Client ( application ) will render the Signature.

Some e-mail Clients may render the Signature Image as an Attachment, while other may render it as the Sender intends it to render

The Sender has zero control over how and what is rendered in the Recipients' e-mail Client ( application )
