My watch has started pinging during charging. How do I silence this?

If possible, test with another Apple Watch USB charger, connected to more than one USB power source as well.

However, it doesn't continue with a new charger, you may need to replace the charger. Is your Apple Watch still under warranty? Either way, you can connect with Apple Support to get help with replacing that device.
