Hi, I recently bought an iPad Air 2022 (5th Generation) with both Wi-Fi and cellular. I currently have the Apple Pencil first generation. I wanted to clarify whether this version of the pencil is compatible with my iPad model, if so is there a way in which I can pair it with my iPad?

The fifth generation iPad Air supports the second generation Apple Pencil - as described in Apple’s definitive compatibility list for the Apple Pencil and iPad:

The first and second generation Pencil use an entirely different pairing and charging interface. Apple Pencil models are not interchangeable - and can only be used with the iPad that has appropriate internal hardware.
