Is it worth it to replace the logic board in my MacBook?

I bought my MacBook Pro in 2018 (it's a 2017 model though if that makes a difference). On Sunday it shut off out of nowhere and I couldn't get it to turn back on. I took it to the Genius Bar and they ran some tests on it that all lead to it being an issue with the logic board. I also need to get a new battery as well, but that wasn't the main cause of my issues. The cost of repair came out to about $430ish USD. If I do these repairs how much more life can I expect to get out of my MacBook? Should I even bother with the repairs or just get a whole new machine? Any help in making this choice is greatly appreciated!

I'm thinking like John Galt. When I started reading your question, I thought I expected to see a repair estimate of US$800-1000. A battery replacement alone is US$200 so, as long as Apple quoted you that price, it sounds like a bargain.

2017 had issues— for example butterfly keyboard... Service program has expired at 5 yrs.

I can say you only have a 90 warranty on parts and labor for that replacement logic board.

You will have to do your own calculus if it is cost effective for you.

I will add— I would not buy a new Mac without factoing in the AppleCare+ extended warranty.

For example You can buy a brand new Macbook Air for $999.00 if it suits your needs.

The open box Refurb/Clearance store has the same warranty as any full price brand new Mac.

It's easy to spend other people's money but after using Macs with Apple Silicon I really have no desire to go back to Intel.

On the other hand $430 is not a bad price to replace a MBA logic board and battery. If you configured it with the i7 and 512 GB I'd say yes, do it. There's a lot of life left in that Mac.

If it has only 256 I'd say no.
