How do I stop my phone from automatically defaulting to Apple Music?

For the longest time now I’ve been having the issue of Apple Music opening itself randomly and frequently. Despite having handoff disabled, auto play turned off, and having told Siri to make YouTube music my default music app, every time I connect to a Bluetooth device or just hit play on the music player in control center, I’m brought Apple Music instead of YouTube. How do I fix this. No other app just opens itself when it’s not interacted with.

Hello Kind of annoyed with apple,

You've taken some great steps in order to prevent Apple Music from playing automatically. Some Bluetooth devices will default to opening Apple Music as the music app or whatever was previously played.

If you don't use Apple Music, you can uninstall it which might help: Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

1. Touch and hold the app.
2. Tap Remove App Remove App icon.
An iPhone screen showing the menu that appears when you touch and hold an app. Remove App is the third option in the menu.

3. Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm.

Let us know if this helps.

Cheers!
