Water walking with a series 8 Apple Watch

Has anyone been successful with water walking with the series 8 Apple Watch? Will it actually measure steps well in the water? Will chlorine water damage the watch?

Chlorine or other chemicals in the pool water may damage an  Watch's water-resistant seals.

The same goes for shampoos, body washes or other bath soaps.
