Spotlight does not show correct extensions (icons) when searching

For example, PDF files are assigned Finder, not Adobe READER. Then browsing with the spacebar does not work and the file cannot be opened.

During your Spotlight search—You can click open your result of choice.

This is different then QuickLook using Spotlight, or use your "arrow down" to highlight your selection, then QuickLook.


Extensions are file types ex .pdf .txt .rtf .weblock etc

icons are quite different—


if the icon does not match , verify your software is up to date,

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes, security updates is macOS Ventura 13.1
