Apple Music Recently Played Not Updating

Hello. I recently travelled to Mexico and had to put my phone in Airplane mode for a couple of days. When I returned to the US, my recently played section of Apple Music did not update anymore. No matter how many different albums or playlists I listen to, the recently played a “listening to” section of my Apple Music profile does not change. It has been this way for almost two weeks. Is there any solution. I also just updated my phone to the most recent software update.

I reset my sync library and did all that but the “recently played” is still not updating. Any more ideas?

Good evening lukeptrsn,

Just to confirm, your iPhone is now showing iOS 16.2 in Settings > General > About and Airplane mode is off, is that right?

Here are a few more troubleshooting steps you can try to address the issue you are having with Apple Music on your iPhone 13 Pro:

Turn off the Sync Library switch (see instructions above), quit the Music app and then Force Restart your iPhone. When the iPhone is on, reset the Sync Library switch to on. This will refresh your iPhone and reestablish a connection to the internet.

Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

Force restart iPhone - iPhone User Guide

If you are using a Wi-Fi network, switch to cellular to test the connection to the Apple Music server

Check to confirm your Apple Music subscription is still active and that the store location is set to the location for your Apple ID. Go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.

Let us know if the issue persists after trying these steps.

Take care.

Hello lukeptrsn,

We'd recommend checking the Sync Library settings which can help with updating your music across devices: Use Sync Library to access your music library across your devices

"How to turn on Sync Library on your iPhone or iPad

  1. Make sure that your iPhone or iPad is signed in with the same Apple ID that you use with your Apple Music subscription.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Music.
  4. Turn on Sync Library.
  5. iPhone showing Music Settings and Sync Library turned on
  6. Turn on Sync Library on your other devices.

"

Cheers.
