pairing keyboard to iMac

my Logitech K380 keyboard will not pair with refurbished iMac just purchased. the iMac's screen won't go past pics of keyboard and mouse (what looks like pointing to the power button)

iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021, 2 ports)

Dig out, barrow, buy a USB keyboard to get setup and then attempt to pair the K380 wireless keyboard.

Logitech K860 not working on login screen for mbp but works fine for imac Hello, I have one K860 at home (MacBook pro) and at the office (imac). The keyboard works fine at the office on the log in screen, the one at home won't register until I use the mbp keyboard to log in. Kind of annoying. anyone else experience this?
