Books sync not syncing collections and is inserting a different thumbnail

I found a useful workaround to Part 2 above. On the iPhone, in the upper right-hand order, I can use the list view which contains the title in addition to the wrong thumbnail image. So I can sort them by sight now. But the collections are still not in synch automatically. I still just want the iPhone to mirror the iMac.

Thanks, and that is already what I am doing. A new collection folder on the Mac is then visible on the phone, but:

1) The new and old collection folders are empty on the iPhone and not populated or updated.

2) The new Audiobooks with a good thumbnail image generated with the Audiobook title on the Mac are transferred but each has the sane random nondescript image (from a podcast) on the iPhone. Impossible to know each title without starting to play it.

Some users have given reasons for a few years why this can happen. But Apple testing has not troubleshot or fixed it in a timely manner. A rare miss.
