iPhone Stolen and Apple ID Phone Number Changed
Hi,
My iPhone 14 was stolen and unbeknownst to me at the time, the thief had watched me put in my passcode. The first thing he did was go into my Apple ID and change my password and phone number associated with the account.
Now that I have a new phone, I've spoken with 4 Apple Advisors, 2 Senior Advisors, and 1 Apple Specialist and no one can tell me how to put my account in recovery mode without the knowledge of the phone number.
I don't have any other devices connected to this account and obviously cannot sign in to the account with the username or password.
Other than waiting on law enforcement to do their job (he also ran up $22,000 worth of charges on my bank cards) and hoping they recover my phone, the Apple Specialist stated that the recovery process is automated and there is a way to get a prompt that says, "Don't have access to your phone?" or something like that, but that he didn't know exactly how to get to that prompt. I've also seen some posts that say you can reset the account through email, but whenever I click on the linked articles, that part seems to be left out (I still have access to my gmail account, which is also my Apple ID username).
So now I'm hoping the internet can help me. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks in advance!--Taylor
