AirPod pros 2nd Gen pick up tv noise in noise cancellation mode

I got a pair of AirPods Pro (2nd generation) in October 2022. When my AirPod Pros are in Active Noise Cancellation mode natural sounds such as talking or other household sounds are blocked out, but they still pick up muffled artificial sound such as tv or music being played nearby, even when at a low volume.

i work from home and don’t want to hear if someone is watching tv on the other side of the room but the AirPods pick up the noise from the tv. Is there anyway to fix this please?

Hi there emmanuellefrommarrickville,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. You can find the steps to help you with the Active Noise Cancellation on your AirPods Pro here: If Active Noise Cancellation isn't working as expected on your AirPods Pro

1. Make sure that you have the latest software on your connected iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.
2. Put both AirPods Pro in your ears and check that Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is turned on.
3. Clean the mesh located on the top of your AirPods Pro. Sometimes Active Noise Cancellation can be affected if debris or earwax builds up in the area shown below.
If this happens, you might experience:
A loss of bass sound
An increase in background sounds, such as street or airplane noise

Let us know if you have any questions.

Cheers!
