AirPod Pro 2 won't stay muted with AppleTV 4K

I'm using my AirPods Pro 2 (firmware version 6A305) with my AppleTV 4K (firmware version 17.2 (21K5330g)). Whenever I hit the mute button on the AppleTV remote, the sound does mute, but then after about 28 to 60 seconds (I timed it), it UNmutes all by itself, without hitting the Mute button again. This does NOT happen with my AirPods Max. Any thoughts? Thanks!

That's one better than my experience. I cannot mute my AirPods Pro Second Gen when they're connected to my 4K Apple TV running the latest TV OS version. I like to mute when a commercial comes on, but it is impossible when connected to the Apple TV. Even the mute buttons on the remote controls are deactivated. Maybe I'm missing something.
