iWork '09 on Mojave

iWork ’09 working with OS 10.14 Mojave?

Hey Guys,

I need to work with old but gold iWork ’09 (especially Numbers and Pages) on my MacBook Pro 2018.

I would like to know: When I install the new OS 10.14 Mojave, will iWork '09 still work?

I have tried, even with the 9.4 update. It installs, but will not open or create documents.

Solution:

It will NOT install on Mojave. However if it is installed on previous OSX like High Sierra, using migration Assistant, it will move it to Mojave, and it works great!

End of the road 32bit App on 32bit MacOS, as Catalina and forward are 64bit only. However necessary for me to have backwards compatibility!

For some unexplained reason, the retail iWork '09 suite did not work with macOS 10.14.0 thru 10.14.4, but resumed working with 10.14.5 and later. Do not install the trial version of the iWork '09 suite, or some zip containing it from the Internet. The additional iWork 9.3 update should be applied after the iWork '09 DVD installation.

Since the only macOS Mojave that you can now install is 10.14.6 with Security updates, there should be no reason you cannot subsequently install from the retail iWork '09 DVD again. Understand that the DVD version of iWork '09 places its LIbraries into the operating system.

Success!!

the installer under Mojave (for me) doesn’t install the application correctly. Some libraries are missing.

Reading other posts, I’m not the only one with issues of not being able to open or make a new document under pages with 9.3 update.

This is how I got it to work-

Install the DVD install pkg. Update to 9.3 using update installer. Then If you have a working installment of pages on another OSX system, you can copy the iWork ‘09 folder in Library-Application Support to your Mojave installation. It works great!

Good Luck Mojave users

Updated to MacOS 10.14.6 (18G9323) with iWork ‘09
