garage band forced delay randomly
I’ve recorded over 20 songs with my iRig using garage band.
recently I bought a DS1 and a crybaby wah
was recording, was going great and suddenly the delay went crazy..
I checked the controls in GB and the delay and reverb were at 100%
I set them back to 0% picked up my guitar, strummed and it was doing it again. And again and again. Sometimes immediately with the first strum, other times it was up to 30 seconds into the recording.
I ended up deleting GB… which WARNING!!! It deletes ALL your non cloud saved songs.. the masters AND the mp4’s
but it fixed the problem. I was obviously sad but I moved on with recording. Recorded 2 new songs with no problems. Started recording a 3rd song, which so far is about 8 min long. Was using the DS1 earlier today and had no issues at all. It’s been a month since I had to delete BG so I pretty much forgot about the issue… and then suddenly… I went to record a track and the volume was crazy loud and the delay/reverb issue happens …
I set it back to 0% a few times and finally just ignored just for testing purposes… suddenly… sometbing new happened!
On top of the delay thing happening, what sounded like a fire alarm started happening through my speakers.. it was crazy! I stopped playing immediately as I feared it was some kind of built in warning that was screaming PLEASE TURN ME OFF BEFORE I BREAK!
the volume knob on the DS1 was only at 25%, the iRig volume was only at 6 which is where I’ve been recording at since forever, I can’t figure out why it was suddenly so loud or why this reverb/delay issue came back.
if anyone can help me understand what’s going on I’d really appreciate it!
The track in the photo was new when this happened. I have 14 tracks on this song so far, but when this issue came up a month or so ago, I only had 1 or 2 tracks on it and it was a 3 minute song so I’m fairly certain the issue isn’t due to having too many tracks.. I kind of think it has something to do with the DS1, the volume being too loud or SOMETHING down those lines. 🤷🏼♂️
