How to remove "system data" from my MacBook Pro?

How do I remove 600gb of "system data" from my MacBook Pro?

• I see some folks advise procedures involve hunting around with terminal, which scares me too much and is also too time consuming.

• Others suggest a third party app like "DaisyDisk" or "CleanMyMac." Those cost money.

Are those really the only solutions?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.5

All good options but—Definitely NOT the "CleanMyMac."—this will cause more issues then it solves.

Do some house cleaning—

What Apple used to label "Other" is now labeled "System Data".

third party I prefer the "OmniDiskSweeper " over the "Daisy Disk"

Try something like OmniDiskSweeper for a GUI to get a good look at itemized file size and location:

Thanks for your reply @leroydouglas! I'm hoping to find a solution that is fast and doesn't require me to spend money.

If this an endemic problem with owning a MacBook Pro, then Apple should have a solve. I mean seriously, Apple, how is my drive is full of 600GB of deadweight? Deadweight that I can't access or delete without resorting to 3rd party software or Terminal comands?

In the short term I appreciate the reco of OmniDiskSweeper. Thanks!
