Focus mode: possible to control notifications per app AND per device?

Hello community

Consider this scenario:

  • I have some apps on both my work phone, and my personal phone.

  • During working hours, I'd like to activate "Work Focus" so that I receive notifications from these apps on my work phone but not my personal phone.

  • For example, I'd like to get notifications from the "Phone" app only on my work phone.

  • I'd also like to share the focus mode across my two phones.

Is this possible?

So far, it seems not to be possible, because the app notification settings in focus mode apply to all instances of the app - i.e. if I allow notifications from the "Phone" app, then I'll get calls on my personal phone as well as my work phone.

Have I understood correctly that this is a limitation?

Sharing a focus across devices means it will be the same on both devices. That is working as designed.

If you want the two different phones to have different notifications, you need to not share the focus.
