Iphone storage

My husband and I have iPhone 13 device, his phone has 128GB, and mine 256GB. He has 8k photos and 650 videos where as I have only 5,200 photos and 608 videos. But my iPhone storage occupied 222GB for photos whereas with all his photos it's only 19GB which is insane. I do not know how this space is occupied with even less number of photos. I understand image size or resolution also varies the memory but this comparison seems illogical with 19GB and 220 GB.

Are you storing your photos in full resolution on your phone whilst your husband has enabled the option to keep low-rez versions on his phone whilst storing the full-Rez versions on iCloud?

Go to Settings > Photos > and activate Optimise iPhone Storage rather than Download and Keep Originals.

This may not be the problem, but it's the first thing I would check.
