Can't delete multiple photos from a message thread (MacOS Ventura 13.1)

Platform: MacBook Air Ventura 13.1

App: Messages

I'm trying to delete multiple photos from a message thread via the Info panel for that thread. While I can select multiple photos, when I try to delete them the prompt indicates that only one photo will be deleted, and that's indeed what happens. Only one is deleted. What am I doing wrong?

The prompt says "Delete Attachment" (singular)

On phone with Apple Support. They're seeing the same thing.

Turns out that the Delete operation is acting on the image that the cursor is on when I bring up the menu. I can select multiple photos, then put the cursor on an unselected photo, and bring up the operations menu. When I select Delete, it deletes that unselected photo and none of the selected ones. All of the menu operations work the same way: on the hovered-over image and not any selected ones.

Unclear what the purpose of selecting is.

Pretty sure that this is not the intended behavior.

Hey rdt52,

If possible, are you able to test to see if the same thing happens with another message thread? This will help to isolate an issue with that single thread or the entire Messages app. Let's also help to narrow this down a bit by testing this issue in safe mode to see if you're able to delete more than one attachment there.
