iMovie insert blank screen I never use iMovie so I'm feeling very ignorant...how can I control the placement of photos at the end of my timeline? I want to add a song and photos but I want to have a length of blank screen before the song/photos begin. Instead, the photos automatically place themselves immediately after the last video image. Most of the times when I use iMovie to create a new project is to fix open iMovie then select that you either want to create a Magic movie, iMovie, or Storyboard.

I typically use iMovie then select the photos and or videos to create an iMovie.

Try that method, does it work for you ?
