Don't show unfilled cells in line chart

Hi,

I would like to make a line chart showing the net profit of an X period. If the entire period has not yet passed, all cells are not yet filled in. But they are shown in the line graph.

As an example, I created a line chart to show the net profit for each day of an entire year. As you can see, only 21 days have passed and the cells of the other 344 days have not yet been filled in. The line of the graph is thus pushed all the way to the left.

Is there a possibility to have the line graph only display the data of the filled cells and as soon as another day/cell has been filled in, it will automatically be added to the line graph.

If you hide all the empty rows in your table and set the chart to not plot hidden data, it will only plot the data that is shown. But then you have to unhide/hide rows in your table or turn a filter off/on when you want to enter new data. The chart will stay the same width either way so the few data points will get spread way out.

If you chart the filled in rows and only a few additional rows below them, it will be nearly what you are asking for. Periodically you'll have to "Edit Data References" and include another batch of rows.

You can create a second table that pulls the data from your first table. Make the chart from the second table and set it to not plot hidden data. Put a filter on that table so only the populated rows are showing. The setup takes more time but it will be fully automatic after that.
