Closed Captioning / SDH won’t turn off after app update Hi, I turned my LG TV on today and Apple TV app asked me a couple questions about something then went away, presume it had done an update as now when I try to watch any programme, they all have what looks like subtitles at the bottom. I have gone in and turned those off however the ‘Closed Captions & SDH’ is stuck at ON and greyed out - it shows ‘to disable closed captioning, change the setting on your device’ I don’t seem to have closed captioning setting on my tv, only subtitles which are turned off in the tv settings Thoroughly stumped! And fed up tbh as it’s now taken an hour of precious sofá time after a long work day and the text on the screen is irritating Any ideas please ? Thank you

How do I get closed captioning to work on my Apple TV? I have gone to settings, accessibility, and turned on CC. I still can't get CC to come on. What should I do? I am using a LG tv, running 16.6 software with Apple TV 4K. I am trying to get closed captioning to work full time since I am hard of hearing. I have gone to Settings, Accessibility, and turned on CC. I still do not have CC when watching a program. I can scroll down on the wheel and it shows CC is off. I can try to click on the off button but that won't turn on CC. What should I do next?

Do you have the Apple TV box? If so, which model? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

Else, on what device do you have the Apple TV app? List of Apple TV app-supported devices - Apple

Change subtitles or languages for videos in the Apple TV app or iTunes Store - Apple Support

Did you try as described in the support document? You should be able to set Subtitles to Off, would would include CC tracks. The default is often a device setting, or maybe an app setting, so turn that off in Settings (for the device or app).
