Cancelling Annual Super Duolingo Subscription

I have an active one-year subscription to Super Duolingo (expires May 25, 2023).

I would like to join a family plan instead, but I need to be using the free version of the app in order to use the invitation link and join the family plan (see below).

Is there no way to cancel the subscription on my iOS device / in the App Store in order to go back to the free version? I'm only given the option to switch to other paid subscriptions (see below). I don't want to have to make a new account because I will lose all my progress/data. Thanks!
