Why is it asking for my debit card

i am trying to download apps but every time I try it asks for my debit card and I don’t have one

iPhone 11, iOS 16

You might need to have a valid payment method on file, even if the app that you want to download is free.

If you can’t download or update apps on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
