iCloud messages updating

Is it normal for my iPhone 13 to frequently say uploading messages to iCloud when I pull up my messages app. It usually only last for a couple seconds but seems to be on particular days then it won’t do it for a couple weeks. Could someone be logging into my iCloud and sending messages from a previous device of mine and deleting them? Is this what could cause this? I’ve never seemed to have this issue before unless I was backing up a device from another.

Hi LGGameTime,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. What you're seeing is quite normal, however, if you are concerned about someone else having access to your account you'll want to check this out: If you think your Apple ID has been compromised

You'll also want to give this a look: Check your Apple ID device list to find where you're signed in

Use your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch to find where you're signed in
1. Tap Settings > [your name], then scroll down.
2. Tap any device name to view that device's information, such as the device model, serial number, OS version, and whether it's a trusted device that can be used to receive Apple ID verification codes. The information might vary depending on the device type. You might need to answer your security questions to view device details.

Take care.
