It would seem the Compatibility list is miss leading...or would need clarification..

You can add up to three fingerprints to your user account (you can save up to five fingerprints on your Mac).

I get what you are saying— the OP does not have a touchID keyboard. Has the power button but this does not include the TouchID/within the same button.

makes sense now no matter how hard the OP tries it will never work, unless you step up to the next level keyboard.

Yes, I worded it poorly. I've been doing that quite a bit lately.

As an excuse, I've been a little under the weather. 😎

I think you should contact Apple Support. It's possible the keyboard is faulty. If it's still under warranty, you can get a new one.

There are " unconfirmed reports " that there is a Limit of 5 finger prints can be stored at one time.

If one has reached that limit, start removing some or All

May I walk back the " unconfirmed " aspect of previous statement 😔

Though, it is unclear ( to me ) if the User has used the Full 5 Limit on the Entire Computer or the 3 Limit per account
