Hi Shandrews,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're unable to use the wrist temperature on your Apple Watch.

It does take about 5 nights of sleeping with Track Sleep and Sleep Focus enabled on your Apple Watch before your wrist temperature is available. You can learn more about how to set up and use this feature here: Track your nightly wrist temperature with Apple Watch Series 8

"Set up wrist temperature tracking

  1. Set up Sleep with Track Sleep with Apple Watch turned on.
  2. To establish a temperature baseline, ensure the Sleep Focus is on, then wear your Apple Watch while sleeping.
  3. Wrist temperature data will be available after about five nights.

Note: Your body temperature naturally fluctuates, and can vary from night to night due to a number of variables. Wrist temperature can also be impacted by external factors like your sleep environment."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
