Normally once funds are in Apple Account balance the only way to get them out again is to spend them.

Just so you know, what you have been recommended as an answer flies totally in the face of what an Apple Community Specialist said in a similar topic, and what I have seen suggested many times by one of the all-time top posters on this web site. It just isn't an official solution so it isn't going to be recognized as acceptable despite a Community Specialist posting about it.

No, there is no way to transfer balance back from account balance to the gift card
