update issue
i download MacOS update and click restart. all the icons disappear as if its about to restart but it just stays on the with my background picture only. it never restarts or installs. i have to hard restart to get a reboot.any help?

Try booting into Safe Mode and installing the update. If this works, then you most likely have some third party software installed which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS. Typical culprits are anti-virus apps, cleaning/optimizer apps, and third party security software....none of which are needed on a Mac. Uninstall these apps by following the developer's instructions.
