Mac message not sending to Android phones even after text forwarding is set correctly

Something seems to have changed in the mac OS or in the iOS update as myself and other users are not able to text android phones from Mac messages even with the correct text forwarding on.

Text message forwarding not working from iPhone to Mac I have text message forwarding enabled on my iPhone, so that I can send and receive messages from the phone on my Mac. But sometime in the last month or two, this has stopped working. Both devices are running the latest iOS 17.1.1 and MacOS 14.1.1. I've toggled the "text message forwarding" setting repeatedly, and restarted each device more than once. Also, there used to be an option for Messages on my Mac to start new conversations using my phone number, but I no longer see that -- only my Apple ID. I'm thinking this may be related. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Can't send text messages from my iMac to android phones When I try to send a text message to an Android phone from my iMac, I get a "Message Failed to Send" pop up box. Messages to iPhones work fine. My iMac is listed as one of the devices for text message forwarding in my iPhone setting.
