bootcamp black screen after windows update

hi. windows 10 doesn't restart following each monthly windows update patch.

this problem began with macos monterey update 12.5

following chime and apple logo, the screen goes black and remains black.

following repeated attempts at restart windows eventually reboot.

is bootcamp corruption one possible cause? might backing up the bootcamp volume, erasing, recallocating and restore resolve the issue? how to do that? other possible solutions?

reproduced the prob when attempting boot camp without external startup disk.

no prob when the disk is present.

so never shut down windows or reboot from windows if an external startup disk is present.

BootCamp (Ventura or last macOS) page-1,

BootCamp - Ventura.

BootCamp - Monterey.

After each major windows update,

BootCamp based Windows user suppose to re-download the BootCamp DRIVERS from apple, inside the Windows, & re-install it back or run as update mode inside the Windows, ...

... that makes sure, Windows is able to use proper mac computer hardware drivers properly.

Also keep macOS side BootCamp updated, ... that means, keep your macOS updated with latest stable system update.

( on Monterey side, last stable update is 12.6.1 and in some cases last stable update is 12.6.2 ).

... sometime, you have to update Graphics Drivers software as well in Windows, after updating the Windows with apple's BootCamp drivers:
