proximity sensor

When I make calls and the phone is on the ear the proximity sensor turns off the display. However when I remove the phone from the ear to disconnect the display does not turn on 8 times out of 10. It does not respond to taps and I have to press the power button twice to turn on the display at times that also doesn’t work and the display returns only when the other party disconnects the call.

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16
