How do I make Firefox my default browser? In Ventura it is FORCED to be Safari!!!

default browser is Safari - no option!!!

In macOS Ventura

From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings.

Click Desktop & Dock in the sidebar.

Scroll down and choose a web browser from the “Default web browser” menu on the right.

THIS IS WRONG!! FireFox does NOT come up when I click an webloc icon! I get Safari instead!! PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!!!!!!!!

A workaround is to right-click on the .webloc file and choose the browser of your choice from the pop-up menu using Open With.

On Ventura 13.1, I can press the cmd key and drag and drop Firefox 108.0.1 onto the open Finder WIndow toolbar.

I can then drag and drop a given .webloc file from a Finder Window onto that Firefox icon and Firefox will open that .webloc destination.

I assume you have Firefox open most of the day in that case. You can drag n drop a .webloc file into the Firefox URL field.

I use webloc links maybe 500 to 1000 times a day. So if I have to carefully mouse

for each one, it's many seconds built up of extra effort. Multiply that by thousands

of people and it's significant.

The redaction was for the addition to my previous post where I thought that simply dragging and dropping n-tuple .weblocs onto an existing displayed site in the Firefox browser body would result in new tabs opened on those dropped .webloc URLs. That premise was wrong as each new dropped .webloc replaces the previous displayed site.
