Devices don't sync when email is deleted

When I delete emails (using mail app) from my iPad, they remain on my iPhone. When i delete emails from my phone they do delete from my IPad. I want them to delete from all devices when I delete them.

If i use google mail app they do delete from both devices whichever device I use. That makes me think it has to be setttings in mail app but they are both set the same.

We'd like to help get you started on the best path to a solution. It sounds like a receiving communication issue from Google. You mentioned the settings being the same on both devices, so we would just recommend checking Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data, and see if any changes here can help such as Automatically and even checking specific timeframes to see if updates with that. If this doesn't help, removing the account from the iPhone and add it back, and if this issue remains, you can check with Google to see if this is expected or if any additional settings need changed. If you have gone through all that, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support.
