I’m using an iPhone 12 iOS 16.1.2. The music app has a what’s next queue in it. How do I clear the queue so nothing is scheduled to play next? I don’t play this music on any other device. I’m streaming it to a Sonos one.

Thanks for clarifying. That would be why! When you click play next or play last it adds them to a queue not a playlist. To add the songs to a playlist click the 3 dots and choose add to a playlist. I don't enjoy that feature either. However the queue will play even after choosing to play a playlist.

the following is a screenshot of what happens when I click on a random so
ng in the queue: as you can see there is no Clear option or keep option.
What I have found is an option to remove the song from my library, I’m hesitant to introduce this into the thread but there you go. But I don’t want to remove the song from my phone, just the queue.

Well to clear the queue you click on a different song that is not already in the queue as if you are playing the song right away you would see keep and clear for the queue.
Alright. To clarify when clicking "Play Next" or "Play Last" the song is added to a queue regardless of the song being in playlist or not. That will create a queue not a playlist. To clear the queue you would tap on a random song and see the options "Keep" "Clear". To add a song to a playlist choose the three dots next to the song and select "Add To A Playlist".

Yea adin, it occurs when I’m trying to add songs to a playlist. I’m trying the add the songs by holding on the song and choosing play last or play next. This adds them to a playlist does it not? The subsequent playlist has a bunch of songs in it that I didn’t add to the playlist. I want to clear the playlist and add new songs to it.
Hi Adin, with respect thanks for nothing. I’ve always been able to play a pre determined playlist. What I want is a fresh slate wrt the queue. I don’t like seeing all those songs in the queue every time I open it.

Howdy! That's great then in that case as that means there is no queue currently. Try to proceed and listen to a playlist and it should work as normal.
