How do I ignore duplicates in photos in Ventura?

Hi,

I have a lot of photos from over twenty years in the catalog. With new duplicates feature it has found over 40k photos. However, the way the feature works, even when the photos are similar but not completely identical it tags them as duplicates. And in those cases I would rather not merge the photos. Is there any way to ignore the photos (in the software itself)?

Many thanks for any help.

There is but-in feature to mark a pair of duplicates as not a duplicate.

I am using this work-around - but you need to be very careful, or you may lose photo.

  • I select one of the selected duplicates and hit the ⌫ key to move it to the Recently Deleted album. This will remove the pair of duplicates from the Duplicates album.
  • Now I open Recently Deleted and put the deleted image back.

Both photos will now be again in the library in their original albums, but they are gone from the list of Duplicates.
