Unable to download apps on iPhone. Keep getting Parental Permission required and we’re selecting Ask, then what happens?

After selecting Ask to Buy, a message goes to the parent to approve the purchase. This link goes into more detail --> Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy - Apple Support
