How to generate a "Table of Content" in Pages
I use the commands "include" and "ad a table of content". Next I have the choice between "Document" or "Selection", but both options reman unlighted.

A table of contents in Pages is based on three things:
- The use of Paragraph Styles (e.g. Heading, etc.) for the content you wish to become the ToC
- Your decision to insert a table of contents per section, or per the entire document at its beginning
- Your choice of Paragraph styles that you want to appear in the ToC based on Customize Styles from the Table of Contents side panel.
