Safari Crashes on my 2016 MacBook Pro when logging into a website

Safari (Version 16.3) on my 2016 MacBook Pro (MacOS 12.6.3) crashes mostly whenever I attempt to logon to a website.

It works OK when on a simple website, but when I try and log on into different websites that require a logon it crashes in a second or two, and I then have to open it up again.

I've cleaned out my cache and got rid of my plugins and extensions, rebooted, etc.

So now I am thinking of trying to reinstall Safari.

Can this be done?

What are the directions for doing it safely?

We can help. If Safari is crashing when trying to log in to certain websites, you don't need to delete the app. Work through the suggestions in this support article to see if they resolve the issue for you: If Safari on Mac doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected
