Quick Actions not functioning.

I have a new MacBook Pro (coming from Windows) and am running MacOS Ventura 13.1.

When right clicking on a PAGES or a DOCX > Quick Actions... Customize comes up instead of showing CreatePDF or some of the other functions commonly available.

When I Customize, and select DONE, nothing changes.

I have contacted AppleChat and Telephone support without getting the results expected. This seems like the intended feature for the Quick Actions (Context menu in Windows).

Looking for any advanced users to help get this to work?

For those capable of solving this first issue, the second one is: How do I then combine multiple DOCX files into one .PDF using something similar. These tasks are all too easy in Windows.

I have come across the same information above. What I am saying is that it is not working as intended.

For example: I can right click on a PNG image (screenshot) on the desktop > Quick Actions, and all the contextual choices are available (create pdf, rotate image, etc.).

However, when doing the same for a Pages or Word document, no choices are available under Quick Actions. Instead, it takes me back to the sane CUSTOMIZE button.

Hello iSteveApple,

Perform quick actions in the Finder on Mac covers intended behavior when using quick actions in the Finder. As mentioned the options available are going to vary and depending on the file type. If you're trying to use a quick action, the menu will appear at the bottom of the Preview pane after you click on a file within the Finder.

That same user guide link provides insight into customization by adding Finder Extensions.

"Customize and add more options: Choose Customize. Extensions settings opens, where you can add extra Finder extensions, such as Set Desktop Picture. See Change Extensions settings.

You can use the Automator app to create workflows for Quick Actions that you can enable as extensions and access in the Finder, the Touch Bar, or the Services menu. You can download your favorite quick actions from third-party developers in the Mac App Store. You can also use the Shortcuts app to add your favorite shortcuts to the Quick Actions menu. "

To combine multiple files into a PDF, check out Combine files into a PDF on Mac.

"On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window.
Select the files you want to combine into a PDF.
Alternatively, you can select the files on your desktop.
Note: The files appear in the PDF in the same order that you select them.
Control-click the selected files, then choose Quick Actions > Create PDF.

Thanks for letting us know iSteveApple.

To make sure we are understanding, you have a document created in Pages saved to your desktop. When you right click, select Customize > Create PDF > Done, you cannot locate the PDF? And the same is true with a Word doc?

Hi Steve,

I have a same experience. Great feature is not working on Ventura 13.1. I have been using it before on Mac and it was a great feature for my productivity. It seems like a bug, because only window is opening is customize.

I don't think Quick Actions work for files created in Pages.
