Stickies - cut/paste

When I cut/paste into a note the background that comes over with the font is inverted, different from the surrounding note. In other words, pasting into a Yellow note, the font is bold, white and its background is black. It could be the opposite or blue, red, green, whatever. If I want to change the background to Yellow so it looks like it's part of the Yellow note How do i reformat the posted information so that it blends into the note?
