After last update my macbook air doesn't respond when I connect HDMI cable via USB-c port. Why? Is Apple again trying to make costumers really really really angry?

How to use HDMI to share screens in this new update? It seems that my MacBook Air won't work anymore.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Is the cable provide DisplayPort or ThunderBolt to HDMI? Apple doesn't support video over USB. There are USB to HDMI or USB with Alternate DisplayPort mode, but they are not true DisplayPort or Thunderbolt video.

If you used a system modification like DisplayLink to push video over USB, the software probably doesn't work on Ventura.

I have a true USB-C form factor DisplayPort to HDMI dongle and it works fine in Ventura. But, mine is an M1 Mini, so it could be something in the Air that has broken the connection.
