Orange dot to right of time - macOS

Running Ventura 13.1 on a MacBook Pro, and getting an orange dot to the right of the time. I'm used to the orange dot near control center when I record, but not at the far right. How do I find out what it means?

@leroydouglas Thanks for the reply. I'm familiar with the dot near control center but not at the far right. I did not have Siri on. I did reboot and it went away, but tested tapping the Siri icon and the dot appeared next to Control Center as expected, not at the far right:

Looks to me from your screen shot —Siri is on


"An orange dot next to the icon indicates the microphone on your Mac is in use; you can see which apps are using it at the top of Control Center."
